Community Nonprofit Hosts Open House & Kicks Off Summer Mobile Dental Program
Largest Mobile Dental Unit in The World to Provide Free Dental Care For Thousands of East LA Children
WHO: QueensCare, a healthcare provider to low-income members of the Los Angeles community, is kicking off their summer mobile dental health program with a community open house at Adventist Health White Memorial Medical Center.
WHAT: The open house event will provide free dental care to as many as 250 children from low-income homes in the East Los Angeles community. The summer program at White Memorial will provide free dental exams to at least 1,000 children over the summer. Dental exams will be performed by dentists from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. The event will also feature medical and community health partners with info and giveaways for attendees.
QueensCare’s Mobile Dental Care Unit is the largest mobile dental unit in the world, with more than 1,000 square feet of space and six exam chairs to provide vital dental care to those who do not regularly have access or can afford these services. At the open house, QueensCare will also be turning over the keys to its older mobile dental care unit to Healthy Smiles OC, a non-profit that aims to improve the oral health of children throughout Orange County.
Open house will feature opening comments from elected officials, including Congressman Jimmy Gomez, Assemblymember Miguel Santiago, QueensCare CEO, Barbara Hines and Health Smiles OC CEO Ria Berger
